In our city there are many buildings of great historical importance. On the occasion of the Expo 2015, they were built several buildings / skyscrapers of modern design that were a great success at international level. For example, the vertical forest was declared the most beautiful high-rise building in the world.

Casa Manzoni (Manzoni’s home) is a building inspired by Renaissance architecture and was the home of writer and poet Alessandro Manzoni from 1813 until his death. It’s the venue of the Manzoni Museum, the National Center for Manzonian Studies and the Historical Lombard Society.

Grattacielo Pirelli

Grattacielo Pirelli

Pirelli skyscraper is one of the symbols of Milan and it is Located in Piazza Duca D’Aosta in front of Central Station. It was originally built to host the offices of Pirelli, the Italian producer of tires, nowadays Regione Lombardia owns it. Designed by Giò Ponti, it was inaugurated in 1960; it has got 32 floors and is 127 metres (416 ft) high.

Palazzo Marino

Palazzo Marino

Palazzo Marino is in Piazza della Scala. Built in 1558 by architect Galeazzo Alessi and restored in 1892 by Luca Beltrami, it is nowadays the seat of the civic administration with the offices of the mayor, the vice-mayor, the Presidency of the City Council, the General Secretariat and the General Management of the Municipality.
